Spring Dance Recital

It's been a fun year of dance and tumbling for the girls. We finished out the year with the annual spring dance recital last Saturday. It is fun to see the girls perform on stage and see what they have been learning all year. As the recital started the director was up on stage and she announced that every year she has each of her 5 teachers choose one student out of all of their classes to be the "Ultimate Dancer". To our surprise Jalen was chosen by two of her teachers! (Ballet & Tumbling) She described the "Ultimate Dancer" to be someone who is at every practice and listens to the teacher, someone who works hard in class and takes time outside of class to practice and improve on their own, someone who just loves to dance/tumble. This is definitely Jalen. We were happy she was chosen to be recognized this way. Since one student couldn't receive two nominations they had her tumbling teacher choose a different student but it was still exciting for her to be chosen at all. She received a certificate and trophy and was smiling from ear to ear. She said she would have given Halle the other trophy if they would have given her both of them. What a good big sister! They are both going to tryout for the competition team next year and we can't wait to see how that goes.
